Is 15 pin D sub the same as VGA?

D-sub is a family of connectors, of which the VGA connector is just one example- more correctly termed a “15-pin d-sub". ... 25 pin serial (can be male or female depending on equipment) for serial connection to modems etc. 25 pin (female) parallel port for printers and scanners (also used for SCSI on apple computers)
