Three common locking methods for circular connectors

Circular connectors are commonly used in harsh industrial environments and often face environmental challenges such as vibration, humidity, and corrosion during operation. To ensure the stability of connector interconnection, appropriate locking methods should be selected based on the product's specific environment to improve product reliability. The three commonly used locking methods for circular connectors include thread locking, bayonet locking, and push pull locking.
Thread locking
The thread self-locking feature is used to connect the plug and socket. To ensure anti loosening under vibration and impact conditions after connection, a fuse, set screw, or ratchet wheel structure is generally used. The main advantages of this structure are reliable connection and convenient use. However, the insertion and separation speed of the product is slow and requires a large operating space, so it is mainly used in environments with a large operating space.
Locking of the bayonet
The bayonet connector is equipped with three clips spaced 120 degrees apart on the outer circumference of the socket, which can be quickly screwed in and tightened by matching with the slot structure at the other end, making it easy to operate. However, due to the fact that the locking force after the bayonet locking is mainly ensured by the compression force generated by the waveform spring inside the connecting cap, rigid locking cannot be achieved.
Push-pull locking
When the space is limited or it is inconvenient to rotate and lock, circular connectors mostly use push pull connections. This structure is equipped with a locking spring on one side of the plug. When the plug is inserted into the socket, the locking spring on the plug is embedded in the groove of the socket, locking the plug inside the socket. When pulling the tail of the plug or cable, the plug and socket cannot be separated. When pulling the plug hood shell, the plug and socket are separated. It has the characteristics of easy operation and stable interconnection.
