OBD is the abbreviation of On-Board Diagnostics in English, and the Chinese translation is "Automatic On-Board Diagnostics System".

The primary task of OBD, which was born for environmental protection, is to monitor vehicle emissions and pollution. Car OBD lamp failure is often caused by the following conditions.

1. Dirty throttle and carbon deposit in intake passage.

2. The ignition device is damaged, causing a certain cylinder of the engine to only inject fuel and not to ignite.

3. The fuel injector is dirty, resulting in poor atomization when spraying gasoline.

4. Damage and poisoning of the oxygen sensor.

5. Three-way catalytic blockage.

6. Damage to the carbon canister that filters the fuel vapor of the fuel tank and the solenoid valve of the canister that regulates the throughput of fuel vapor.

Several reasons will eventually lead to substandard vehicle emissions, which will be recorded in the form of fault codes. After exporting the fault code through the OBD interface, the condition of the vehicle can be known without dismantling the vehicle.

As people pay more and more attention to the environment, new energy vehicles have become popular.

Then there is no emission of exhaust gas and no new energy vehicles that cause air pollution. Do I still need to load the OBD interface?

In fact, there is a huge difference between the electronic control unit (ECU) of a traditional car and the battery management technology of a new energy car. And the communication protocol is different from traditional gasoline vehicles.

Therefore, if the obd manufacturer does not explicitly support new energy vehicles, it may happen that the obd cannot be energized normally.

But now, most new energy vehicles still retain this interface, but the function has changed. It is more used as the maintenance and debugging interface of the controller, battery management, communication interface and other modules. At the same time, it will take time for new energy vehicles to completely replace fuel vehicles. Therefore, the OBD system will still provide services for the safe driving of the car.
